Santiago, Chile – August 28, 2026
Pampa Camarones SpA (BCS:CAMARONEX), controlled by investment funds of Minería Activa, announces the start of the scouting drilling campaign planned for the second half of 2026.
In line with management’s planning, the first metre of the campaign was drilled on August 27, targeting a total of 10,000 metres of reverse circulation (RC) drilling. This marks Pampa Camarones’ first exploration drilling campaign since 2022.
Consolidating Pampa Camarones’ position in the district
As a result of the district-level consolidation of mining property, the company’s concession area today totals 20,500 hectares of high geological potential, prompting an extensive deployment of the geology and exploration team. Based on the information gathered during this deployment, the exploration team delineated a series of high-potential targets.
Accordingly, the current drilling campaign has two main objectives: (i) extending the oxide resources that can be readily incorporated into the company’s mine plan, and (ii) delineating new deposits with the potential to significantly increase the company’s resource base. This is part of Pampa Camarones’ long-term strategy of increasing production beyond what is currently contemplated.
The first sector to be drilled is Golondrina, where the campaign will seek to extend mineralization in areas surrounding the recently opened mine, which could meaningfully extend that deposit’s mine life. Drilling will then move to the Aída sector — a high-potential vein near the plant — and Gattavara — an extension to the south of the Salamanqueja vein — both containing resources with high copper-oxide grades that could be rapidly incorporated into the mine plan.
In addition, the Lorenzo, Dorothy and Ana Gloria targets will be drilled; these are characterized by potential that could significantly expand Pampa Camarones’ scale of operations.
Drilling is being carried out by Mineral Drilling, a company with extensive experience in drilling services, recognized for its high standards of quality and safety.
The exploration campaign is expected to be completed during 2026. Progress will be reported to the market in a timely manner.
