The new Pampa Camarones SpA is controlled by Mineria Activa SpA and has been redesigned and improved with a new spirit and a modern view of mining.

Our internal policies respond to that vision and are aimed at the sustainable development of the mining activity that we develop, where the safety of our workers, care for the environment, and respect for neighboring communities are the foundations on which is based this new Pampa Camarones.

Our Project

Pampa Camarones is the first copper project developed in the Arica and Parinacota Region, with an annual production of up to 8,400t of copper cathodes.

The project is located in the municipality of Camarones, approximately 80 kilometers south of the city of Arica, and considers the exploitation of oxide copper ore and the production of copper cathodes. It is contemplated to operate 15 years, due to fact it was awarded the tender of mining concessions owned by the National Mining Company (Enami) located in the municipality of Camarones

The development of the project up to date has an initial investment of more than US $ 100 million, mainly invested in the Pampa Camarones Cathode Plant, and the construction of the Seawater Drive System (SIAM)

With a processing capacity of 60,000 tons per month, the goal for our cathode plant is to produce 8,400 tons of copper cathodes per year. The Plant is fed mainly with minerals coming from the exploitation of the Salamanqueja mine, and other deposits within the mining properties of the company in the area.
